While the Apple Capital Loop Trail northern extension may be open to the public in June, the grand opening ceremonies will take place July 9. The extension will add another 5.25 miles to the 10-mile Loop Trail and 2.2-mile extension to Kirby Billingsley Hydro Park. The trail will be open to hikers, runners, skaters, bikers and other non-motorized recreationists. Time of the celebration TBA. Complete the Loop Coalition website
