Wenatchee Wild Surge Toward Playoffs

Undefeated is a great term to throw around when it comes to sports teams. For the Wenatchee Wild being undefeated even if just in February will suffice. The third place Wild have surged up the standings as they near the playoffs with a 65% winning percentage since Christmas.

The white-hot Wild are being led by Matt Dorsey and Sam Morton. The pair of 20-year-olds have combined for 3 points a game in 7 games in February. Morton has tallied 4 goals and 8 assists for 12 points and Dorsey has tacked on 4 goals and 6 assists for 10 points.

The Wild only have 2 remaining games in it’s 58 game regular season and just like every season in the organization’s history they will be in the playoffs. The possibilities have been narrowed down considerably as the final 2 games in Penticton versus the Vees will decide whether it plays in the 3v6 or 4v5 series. The first round opponent will be either Salmon Arm, Vernon or West Kelowna and the series will tentatively begin on February 28th and conclude by March 8th.

One thing that has slid under the radar is the fact that the Wild are very beat up and battling the injury bug right now. They are hoping to get healthy over the next week and be as close to full strength as possible. The 2018 Fred Page Cup Champion and Doyle Cup Champion definitely know the value of peaking at the right time.
