DESCRIPTION:84th Annual WVUSBC Open Championship Tournament Rules Eastmont Lanes Youth May Enter Singles Event (See rule 19) \n1. This tournament is open to all members of the Wenatchee Valley USBC Association. \n2. Entries close at 10:30 a.m Sunday March 10\, 2023. There is no early bird event. \n3. Entry fees: $25.00 per event\, per person: lineage $12.00\, prize fund $9.00\, expense fund $4.00 All events is $3.00 and is optional. \n4. Handicap will be 90% of 230 with no limit\, using the 3-game format for handicapping. A bowler’s average for the tournament will be determined in the following order: a. The highest certified winter league average for 2022-2023 recorded in the yearbook for 21 games or more. b. The highest certified average for a minimum of 21 games as of February 1\, 2024. c. The highest certified average as of February 24\, 2024\, for 15 games or more. d. Bowlers who do not meet any of these criteria must enter the tournament with a 220 average. e. Bowlers who only have a Sport League average will be required to use the average adjustment scale as indicated by USBC rule 202d. *Averages used in this tournament must have been established in a league certified by the WVUSBC. \n5. All participants must have a current USBC card purchased through the Wenatchee Valley USBC. Bowlers living within the local jurisdiction who do not have a current card may purchase one prior to entering the tournament. \n6. 4-person teams may be made up of any adult bowlers in the Wenatchee Valley USBC. Multiple participation in the team\, doubles\, and singles events is encouraged. a. Bowlers are permitted to enter the team\, doubles\, and singles events multiple times but must change two (2) bowlers on the team and one (1) bowler in doubles to cash more than once. A bowler may cash only once in singles. b. A bowler’s first team\, doubles\, and singles events scores will be used for the all-events total. The All Events fee must be paid prior to the bowler’s participation in any event. \n7. Doubles and Singles are individual events so participants must sign up for two different squads. a. Bowlers may bowl Doubles OR Singles OR both events. \n8. Prizes and Awards: Cash prizes and WVUSBC issued tournament prizes shall be awarded on a handicap basis. Team\, doubles\, singles\, and handicap all-events prizes are paid on a 1:5 ratio. \n9. A $25.00 prize will be awarded to the scratch all-events winner. The cost will come from the expense fund. \n10. Winners of the team event will receive a free entry into the following year’s tournament. Only the members of the winning team may use the free entry and it may not be used by any other person. If a team replaces one or more bowlers the following year\, the new bowlers will be responsible for the entry fee. An exception will be considered if any of the previous bowlers is deceased. \n11. Lineups on the recap sheets will be in the order submitted on the entry form. \n12. Substitutions should be reported to the tournament office 30 minutes prior to squad time. \n13. Check-in time is 30 minutes prior to bowling time. Practice will run for 10 minutes before each squad is scheduled to start. Tardy bowlers must start in the frame being bowled\, scoring zeroes for missed frames. If a substitute has bowled the first frame\, he/she shall be allowed to complete the series. \n14. Entry fees are not refundable (USBC Tournament Rule 314). The tournament manager may make exceptions in an emergency situation. \n15. Protests and appeals must be submitted in writing stating the grounds for the protest or appeal prior to the payment of tournament prizes. \n16. USBC Tournament Rule 319c (average adjustment) does not apply. \n17. The following USBC Tournament Rules do not apply: 319a2\, 319a3\, 319a4\, 319c\, 319d\, and 319e. Any questions or disputes not covered in the rules will be addressed by the Tournament Committee. \n18. The lanes will be oiled once before the first squad on each tournament day. SUMMARY:Bowling – Adult – Youth Doubles No-Tap Tournament
DESCRIPTION:1. Teams must consist of one adult bowler and one youth bowler. \n2. Tournament will be held Feb. 10th & 11th and Feb. 17th & 18th. \n3. Entries open January 10th and close February 18th @ 10:30AM. Entry fee must accompany entry. \n4. Make checks payable to: Eastmont Lanes. \n5. Participants in this tournament will bowl no-tap. Youth average up to 80 will bowl 7-pin no tap. Youth average 81-109 will bowl 8-pin no-tap. Youth average over 110 and all adults will bowl 9-pin no-tap. \n6. Handicap will be 90% of 220. \n7. Use high book average from the 2022-2023 Season with 15 games or more. If no book average\, use highest league average with 15 games as of tournament date for 2023-24 season. All others bowl scratch. \n8. All averages will be verified. \n9. Entry fee is $25.00 per team per squad. Bowling fee $16.00\, scholarship fee $5.00\, and trophy fee $4.00. \n10. A bowler may compete up to 6 times with 6 different partners. \n11. Substitutes are allowed when replacement is necessary. The tournament manager should be advised of a substitution at least one hour before squad time. After a shift has started\, substitutions are allowed only in case of an emergency. \n12. There will be three divisions: • Mixed (Male/Female) • Male/Male • Female / Male \n13. Bowlers coming from out of town must bring verification of average. \n14. Awards will be given to teams on a 1 in 5 ratio per division. Youth bowlers can win a maximum of two trophies for this tournament. \n15. Scholarship fees collected through tournament entries will be divided equally between the three winners. Scholarship funds will be deposited with SMART. \n16. $250.00 from WVUSBC unassigned SMART scholarship funds will be divided by three ($83.33) and added to each division winner’s scholarship winnings. \n17. Check-in time is 30 minutes prior to squad time. \n18. In the event that all lanes are not completely filled on any shift\, open bowling will be permitted with one lane left vacant next to the scheduled tournament. \n19. DESCRIPTION:Adult – Youth Doubles No-Tap Tournament \n1. Teams must consist of one adult bowler and one youth bowler. \n2. Tournament will be held Feb. 10th & 11th and Feb. 17th & 18th. \n3. Entries open January 10th and close February 18th @ 10:30AM. Entry fee must accompany entry. \n4. Make checks payable to: Eastmont Lanes. \n5. Participants in this tournament will bowl no-tap. Youth average up to 80 will bowl 7-pin no tap. Youth average 81-109 will bowl 8-pin no-tap. Youth average over 110 and all adults will bowl 9-pin no-tap. \n6. Handicap will be 90% of 220. \n7. Use high book average from the 2022-2023 Season with 15 games or more. If no book average\, use highest league average with 15 games as of tournament date for 2023-24 season. All others bowl scratch. \n8. All averages will be verified. \n9. Entry fee is $25.00 per team per squad. Bowling fee $16.00\, scholarship fee $5.00\, and trophy fee $4.00. \n10. A bowler may compete up to 6 times with 6 different partners. \n11. Substitutes are allowed when replacement is necessary. The tournament manager should be advised of a substitution at least one hour before squad time. After a shift has started\, substitutions are allowed only in case of an emergency. \n12. There will be three divisions: • Mixed (Male/Female) • Male/Male • Female / Male \n13. Bowlers coming from out of town must bring verification of average. \n14. Awards will be given to teams on a 1 in 5 ratio per division. Youth bowlers can win a maximum of two trophies for this tournament. \n15. Scholarship fees collected through tournament entries will be divided equally between the three winners. Scholarship funds will be deposited with SMART. \n16. $250.00 from WVUSBC unassigned SMART scholarship funds will be divided by three ($83.33) and added to each division winner’s scholarship winnings. \n17. Check-in time is 30 minutes prior to squad time. \n18. In the event that all lanes are not completely filled on any shift\, open bowling will be permitted with one lane left vacant next to the scheduled tournament. \n19. We are playing at Wenatchee High School.  We will have 4 courts and there are bleachers in the gyms.  There will be a Commons area in the school where the players can put their things while they are playing. \nThe gym will open at 7am\, coaches meeting at 7:30am  and play will begin at 8am. \nThere will be a commons area where the players can put their things while they are playing.  Food & drinks are allowed in the bleachers at WHS. Low profile chairs have been acceptable in the gym in the past as long as you have a blanket/towel/etc. to put under. \nWarm ups will be 5 minutes and 5 minutes for the first two matches on each court\, then 3 and 3 for the remaining pool and bracket matches. No Shared Serving. \nChildren must always be supervised; please do not leave children unattended. We have many glass trophy cases and large photo frames in the hallways; no bouncing or hitting balls outside the gym. \nNo outlet usage for cooking devices. \nThere will be Tournament Apparel and Concessions at Wenatchee High School\, 1101 Millerdale Ave\, Wenatchee\, WA \nSee you Saturday! \n

SUMMARY:2023 Leavenworth Marathon
DESCRIPTION:Race Overview\nA stunningly beautiful course in the scenic town of Leavenworth\, Washington. Marathoners will start near the renowned Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area. Runners will run a fast course that begins with a 10 mile journey through Icicle Canyon\, transitions to trails along the Icicle River\, passes through the National Fish Hatchery to East Leavenworth Road\, crossed the bridge into the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth to follow wooded riverfront parks and trails\, eventually meeting up with Icicle Road\, which leads back to one more trip around the Icicle River trails and to the Finish and roar of the crowd at the Hatchery and event center. In this amazing course\, runners will encounter a mix of paved roads and paths\, dirt roads\, paths and trails. Surrounded by impressive mountains\, participants might see salmon spawning in the rivers or four legged creatures cheering from the edge of the wild! \nThe marathon is limited to runners who will complete the course within the six hour time limit\, due to course restrictions. Walkers are welcome in the half marathon category. The half marathon course is open for four hours.
